Iran film ‘Just 6.5’ to screen at Sofia MENAR

Saeed Roustaee’s award-winning flick ‘Just 6.5’ is scheduled to be screened at the Sofia MENAR Film Festival (SMFF) in Bulgaria.

The film will represent Iran at the official competition section of the 2021 edition of the event.

‘Just 6.5’ tells the story of a veteran narcotics officer and his squad who search every corner of the capital as they hunt down the city’s largest drug kingpin, and the complications involved in their mission.

Peyman Maadi, Navid Mohammadzadeh, Amir Jadidi, Parinaz Izadyar and Farhad Aslani make up the film’s main cast.

Some of the recent festival appearances of ‘Just 6.5’ include the 2020 Whānau Mārama: New Zealand Int’l Film Festival, the Jeonju Int’l Film Festival in South Korea, the 27th Prague Int’l Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the 12th Bengaluru Int’l Film Festival in India, the 2020 Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) in Australia as well as the 18th Pune Int’l Film Festival (PIFF) in India.

The SMFF presents the best films, documentaries and short films of the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa.

The 2021 edition of the Bulgarian festival is slated for January 15-31.
